How to look after Beni souliers?

To preserve the quality of the material of your Beni souliers, we recommend alternating them with other pairs after two consecutive days of wear. When not in use, store them in the pouches provided upon purchase and keep them in a dry place away from any form of heat. Avoid contact with water, solvents, greasy or abrasive substances to prevent deformation and stains. Finally, we recommend using a shoehorn when putting on your souliers.

Smooth Leather

Beni uses different types of smooth calfskin leathers for its souliers. These leathers do not undergo any technical process to emphasise their plain, smooth natural veining.

This type of leather has an irregular grain and is not resistant to scratches, scuffs, and rubbing—especially on areas of the product that are subject to the most wear and tear.

To care for smooth leather, start by removing light stains using a soft, slightly damp cloth. Once the leather has dried, apply a high-quality, colourless shoe polish with a soft cloth. Use gentle circular movements to bring out the shine.

Patent & Mirror Leather

The patent leather used by Beni is calf leather polished through a special process to give it a bright and shiny finish. To maintain it, use a soft, light-coloured, slightly damp cloth to clean the surface, then wipe with a clean, soft, dry cloth. To avoid colour transfer, limit contact with other leathers.

Metallic Leather

Laminated leather, also known as metallic leather, is distinguished by its finish, achieved by applying a very thin layer of metallic foil to the surface of the leather. This gives the product a shiny, eye-catching appearance.

Metallic leather can be cleaned using a soft, dry cloth.

Suede Leather

Beni suede souliers are distinguished by their velvety feel, the result of fine craftsmanship. Caring for suede leather shoes requires a few simple steps to keep them in prime condition:

  • Use a soft-bristle brush to remove dirt and dust. Brush gently in the direction of the grain to preserve its silky texture.
  • If your shoes come into contact with water, gently dab them with an absorbent cloth. Remove fresh stains as soon as they appear using a clean, dry cloth. For superficial stains, a rubber brush can also be used.
  • Store your suede shoes in a dry, well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight, heat, and humidity. Use shoe trees or paper to maintain their shape and absorb residual moisture.
Fabrics

Souliers made of fabric should never be immersed in water or machine-washed, as this may damage them, cause discoloration, or loosen the soles. After cleaning, let your shoes air-dry before storing them in their pouch, avoiding sources of heat.

Satin
Beni satin is made in Italy from carefully selected silk and viscose fibers. It is very delicate and sensitive to fraying. Clean gently with a slightly damp cloth and a garment stain remover, making gentle circular movements. Be careful not to damage the fabric by rubbing it against rough surfaces.

Velvet
Beni uses a shiny, soft, and plush velvet. Slight marks may appear if the fabric is pressed, but these are easily removed by steaming. It can be cleaned with a damp sponge, rubbing gently. As this is an extremely delicate material, avoid rubbing, which can diminish its velvety effect.

Denim
Beni denim is crafted from premium cotton Japanese denim. Clean with a garment stain remover. To remove dust and small stains, use a clean, soft cloth slightly dampened with water. After cleaning, let the shoes air-dry in the shade. Avoid direct sunlight or heat. When not in use, store your shoes in a dry place away from sunlight.

Jacquard and Tulle
Clean with a soft, dry cloth, taking care not to apply excessive pressure. Do not expose to high temperatures and do not dry-clean with perchloric ethylene. Avoid abrasive products and steam.

Technical Fabrics
Technical materials are made from synthetic fibers to meet specific requirements (elasticity, lightness, etc.). Mesh is created using Framis film and 3D printing, with manual craftsmanship required during production. To care for these materials, wipe with a soft, dry, natural-coloured cloth. If it comes into contact with liquids, wipe immediately with water and allow to dry in shaded, fresh air. Do not machine wash or use chemicals; instead, consult a cleaning specialist. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct heat or sunlight.

PVC
Despite its high durability, PVC is a synthetic material with low breathability, and its surface may fade over time. Surface dirt can be gently removed using a cloth dampened with water. Do not use leather care products on PVC, as this may alter its transparency.

Raffia

Raffia is a handcrafted material made from plant fibers by highly skilled artisans. The use of natural filaments gives the surface a characteristic texture, pattern, and colour. Slight variations in tone, natural shading, or other imperfections are not defects but an inherent part of the material’s charm.

Maintaining Beni raffia shoes requires a few precautions to keep them in good condition:

  • To clean, use a soft, dry cloth, taking care not to apply too much pressure, which could cause discoloration.
  • Avoid exposing them to water whenever possible, as raffia is sensitive to humidity. If your shoes get wet, let them air-dry away from direct heat sources.
  • Use a soft brush to remove dust and light dirt.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight or other heat sources.
  • Store your shoes in a cool, dry place when not in use.
Exotic Leathers

Scaled Leathers
To care for Beni scaled leathers, use a soft, dry cloth to clean them, then gently apply a quality, colourless shoe polish following the direction of the scales to enhance their shine. These leathers are sensitive to humidity, so if they come into contact with water, dab them gently with an absorbent cloth.

Foal-Effect Leather
To clean Beni foal-effect leathers, use a soft, slightly damp cloth, always respecting the direction of the hair. Avoid repeated rubbing with abrasive objects (such as trouser hems or brushes), as this can alter the structure of the hair.
